Why did Yugoslovia split up? Well,Yugoslavia was made up of six countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro. Slovenia was the first to break apart, followed by Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. The only two countries that made up Yugoslavia in 1993 were Serbia and Montenegro.However, the communist government of Serbia wanted to gain back those countries and began a war with Croatia. So thats why Yugoslovia split up.
